If I were to plug an echo plug into the wall outlet and my power strips into the echoplug, if i were to turn off the echoplug would that protect the computer from power surges. living in a pullbehind in the backwoods of arkansas and I want to be able to protect my pc from electrical storms while im at work but I also want it to be able to do stuff until i turn it off from my phone

It should still keep the surge protection, as long as the plug is properly wired and grounded in the panel. Adding the plug shouldn't be an issue if it is.

There's no substitution for proper power surge protection. Cheap surge protection power strips from Walmart and Amazon aren't going to cut it.聽

And even though your little power cube is plugged in and the output is switched off, a healthy surge from a lighting strike is going to blow right through it.聽

Get a proper surge protector such as an Isobar product if you valve your equipment.聽

PRAISE THE LORD AND PASS THE AMMUNITION...
