I have several pairs of IEM's in the mail from linsoul, all of them recommended by @191x7 (tyvm btw) but today I got my Tin HiFi T2 in the mail and it's a very...... odd listening experience, almost like the tips aren't always doing their job.  How important are ear tips on IEM's?  Do I need to spend some more time trying different ones included?  The seem very cheap but I don't know much about IEM's or the tips.  One ear is fine but the other just feels funny and the sound isn't right.  I keep wanting to turn my head because the soundstage has a hole in it?

If there are aftermarket tips I should try are there any suggestions?

@HAL90000 was asking about a baby dac/amp in another post and rather than hijack that thread I figured I would mention it here.  I have the xDuoo XP-2Pro, it seems to struggle with these T2's as in on high gain it goes from not loud enough to way to loud on high gain near maxed out, and low gain is to low.

Audio go Brrrrrr

I just got my QKZ x HBB from Linsoul yesterday. With it came 3 sizes of tips, and only the medium ones works for me. Smalls ones are simply too small, they sit loose in my ear and the large ones are too big - I need to really push them in to sit right and then they sound okay but after a short while they push out. But the medium ones, they fit just right and sound is clear and bass is heeeeeavy. So yeah, try the different sizes for sure.

Yeah that's what I found since posting this.  My ear canals are different sized, I've known that for a long time.  I ended up putting a larger one in the ear that was giving me trouble and I'm finding it a rather unique experience giving IEM's a first try.  Many years ago I tried ear bud's as a kid, like the Sony ones that come with a discman lol.  I just looked up my e-mail and yeah, the QKZ x HBB are on the list of ones I ordered 😄

Glad to hear you found what works for you 🙂

Well I can say that you like EDM music, the QKZ x HBB will suit you PERFECTLY. Holy shit, let me tell you, they are loud af and the bass is craaazy. I love them 😄 That said though, they do sound very good aswell, good clearity and soundstage is surprisingly good (IMO), so they're very good for other type of music aswell, no doubt. I was also suggested these by @191x7 and yesterday day I just had to message him with how good they sound, and they only cost 20USD, like whaaat.

Tips are important.

And fit is king.

That's why I usually recommend multiple IEM-s that come with different tips that are usually interchangeable. For it is the best to try out.

And there are aftermarket tips available, different sizes, materials and shapes.

For example, foam tips are what many people like.

And it is normal to have different size ear canals, it's not highly common but it's normal.

I use the medium tips that come with Moondrop Chu (I believe those are Moondrop spring tips) on my QKZ x HBB.

I'm on vacation now (Novalja, Pag, Croatia) so I only brought those with me, quite good all-rounders.

Not sure about your DAC, but my Akliam PD4 can power any IEM I threw at it, and I can recommend it. Or the Truthear Shio, a similar device.
