Well, it can launch most games, if that's what you're asking. It can game on the lowest details, 1080p. As long as the other parts are good enough too. Why?

my friend needs to upgrade his gpu RX550 to a better one.

It'll be significantly faster than that, but by today's standards it is low end.

Should be a bit faster than a 1660S and might be the better choice, price depending. Probably more power hungry so make sure to have a decent PSU.

yes but the rx 6600 is also an option as well as the 6600 xt/6650 xt

What is your budget for a new card and what games are you playing at 1080p? There are probably better options out there than 5 year old cards.

That would also be a good choice (probably as good or better than a 6600

Sorry, do not know the market in your area. These are about $200 here. But some of the other suggestions above are good as well for used market. 

 

EDIT: 5700 XT should trade blows with a 6600 XT. 5700XT will be a lot faster than a 1660 Super. A 1070 will be better or about the same as a 1660 Super depending on title. A used 1080 would be about on par with a 5700XT but usually slightly slower. Out of the 1660S, 1070, 1080, or 5700XT, I'd go 5700XT if a 6600 XT is out of budget.

Get a 980. Same performance as a Vega 64, less heat.

 

980TI would be even better, or a 1080TI.
