Hey guys can you help me with making a choice:

I have ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO motherboard and ROG Hyperion GR701 case and during setup of it I realized hey my mb has only one USB-C header but case has 2 front usb-c ports.

So I decided to buy SilverStone ECU07 internal usb-c card.

Since this is PCI Express Base 3.1a card my question is: Is this compatible with my mb or if you think my choice is bad can you point me to one better.

Thanks!

It'll work, but its not going to look good, which I imagine you'd prefer with how ridiculous that case is.

Are you sure that the case requires two USB-C headers? It has two ports yes, but neither the Z790 or X670e motherboards have dual type-c headers, which this case would've been made to support. Asus is at least smart enough to do stuff like that when they design flagship cases for their motherboards.

It does appear to require two, which I also think is odd because I don't recall ever seeing a consumer board with more than one...

You're right, didn't even think to check the support section for the case for a manual.

I doubt it'll 'vary by country' enough to only have one type-C header. Seems like Asus' solution to the problem of not having two usb-C headers is plugging the type-C port.

Another reason to avoid Asus products it seems.

A case doesn't "require" anything. You don't have to plug in any ports if you don't need them.

I agree, but some people don't like the idea of having external ports that don't work on their PC for various justifiable reasons. Its an entirely justifiable reason to not go with an F SKU CPU without an iGPU, for some people.
