It's used for casual gaming. I don't really care to game at 4k. I feel the 3070 suits me fine and it's pretty much the only thing I want to keep. I'd like to be able to keep open 20-30 tabs of Chrome without crashing.

Some exploring on PC Part Picker leads me to the following build:

$484 Intel i5-13600K 3.5 GHz 14-Core Processor

$69   be quiet! Pure Rock 2 Black CPU Cooler

$354 MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI ATX LGA1700 Motherboard

$154 Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 CL36 Memory

$119 Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive

$228 Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive

$141 Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case

$189 Corsair RM850x (2021) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Total cost is AUD $1688

Keep the HDD alongside for cold storage. 2TB SSD should be a fuck ton.

My comp is old and a bit of a frankenstein.

It's been too many years to count since I built one and the options these days are as wonderful as they are confusing. (Starting to feel old)

I'm putting it out there for anyone that might know some new combos that can refresh my PC.

My current build:

Intel i7-8700 3.2 GHz 6-Core Processor

Asus TUF H310-Plus Gaming ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (think it's getting a bit sick)

Thermaltake H-ONE 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2666 CL19 Memory

Western Digital Green 240 GB M.2-2280 SATA Solid State Drive

Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200 RPM Internal Hard Drive

Zotac 3070

Cooler Master 650 Gold 80+

It's used for casual gaming. I don't really care to game at 4k. I feel the 3070 suits me fine and it's pretty much the only thing I want to keep. I'd like to be able to keep open 20-30 tabs of Chrome without crashing.

$189 Corsair RM850x (2021) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Total cost is AUD $1688

Looking to keep the upgrades around the $1500 mark. Actually just realised im pretty much building a new PC minus the GPU.

Any feedback is appreciated.

For your use case I'd go AM5, same gaming performance and upgradability, plus it's cheaper

Also swapped for better cooler, faster RAM, less expensive nice SSD, and a better case (that's more subjective tho)
