It's a NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP based AM2 board.

If you just want an AM2 system, have an AM2 chip lying around and decide it's worth a shot, go for it. Must say it's nothing of any outstanding value (Monetary value) at all..... In fact I'm really not aware of any AM2 boards that are.

Eh during that time nvidia chipsets were failing all over ... they had problems with bad solder in the substrate, resulting in fractures and breaks in the solder. Reballing would solve the issue for a few days or weeks only to go bad again. As the fractures happen, the resistance goes high and the chipset gets even hotter and eventually could even kill itself.

I wouldn't waste my money on a nvidia chipset motherboard, even at $3... also that one's full of capacitors that would need to be replaced (in the vrm and near  the ram slots)

And the 4th board in that picture.... jeesh what weak ass vrm on that one, 2+1 or something like that, with no heatsinks or anything...

For AM2, I agree 100% but it's not true for all of them.
I have a few DFI NF4 boards (Socket 939 Ultra-D, SLI-DR and Expert) that are tops, even a few NF2 chipped boards that do well including a DFI NFII Ultra B for Socket A.

It really depends on the socket it's for - Any board that's Nvidia chipped after Socket 939 just aren't the same and tend to not be the best out of all in most cases, depending on the socket of course.

I had the original 680i from EVGA and I could barely run a Q6600 at stock. But it was great with my Conroe parts.

I hated that board lol.

I was very happy with my NF4 board on Linux at the time, back then Nvidia drivers on Linux were the shit.  Everything just worked.

This post has been ninja-edited while you weren't looking.
