Pink PC Build for 3D Modeling & Rendering

Budget (including currency): $1,000 - $1,500

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Clip Studio Paint

Other details: Monitor, keyboard, and mouse needed. Looking to buy now or if/when prices drop soon. Budget is for PC only, not peripherals

Hey all, first timer here looking for parts recommendations for a 3D modeling & rendering PC. I will be doing little to no animation work and most likely using GPU for rendering. I'd be gaming on it as well but nothing insane... think Minecraft but with shaders. I have a rough parts list on PCPartsPicker listed here. I am looking for 32GB ram, 16-core processor, and 1 TB of storage. 3070 would be nice but it all depends on what will fit in the budget. Prefer air cooling over water cooling. I would love to find any parts in pink and/or white as well! I'm willing to paint any safely paintable parts as well. Also open to suggestions for peripherals.

Thank you in advance!

Edit: Updated parts list (link) with new board and storage.

As far as the pinkness goes I have a single suggestion: spray paint.  It might be possible to get pink colored gear, but the selection is going to be so reduced and the price so high you might as well do it yourself.  Take the stuff apart, and paint the parts you want to be pink.  DO NOT paint any pcbs or fin stacks with the possible exception of milled or cast VRM coolers.   Leave them the color they came.  Use a Sandable primer, then sand, then do color.  You’ll want as clean a place to do it as possible and spray paint floats on the air so stuff around you will be pink too if you don’t take steps.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

That board won't handle that unlocked i7. You will experience thermal throttling.

Add this cooler to the build.

Hmmm… there’s a thought:  white rgb build with pink lighting.  That could be done without painting.

White is easy but as someone who had to get some pinks for an Ai Hoshino themed build, pink is easier to fetch via spray paints.

Thank you for the feedback! Is there a specific type of heat-proof paint I need to use? I'm a bit concerned about chipping or peeling. The PC's cooling ability should not be compromised as long as I'm just painting the shrouds of parts, correct?

There is paint made for car engines that will take really hefty temps.  Comes in most colors. Many brands. Shrouds aren’t radiating surfaces so no.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

nods

You don't need high heat engine enamel paints, at worst the surfaces that doesn't contribute to cooling would be at around 45-55 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile basic plastidip is rated at 93c. You wanna concern yourself more with surface preparation and even application than the heat.

While this is for car parts, almost all of the advice here applies. All i could say beside that is to make sure you do not and i mean DO NOT paint anything that contributes to cooling like radiator fins, heatsink arrays, and fans. For the latter you could do it but youll need to rebalance it and even after that the fan wont be the same due to the added weight of the paint.

I would say VRM heat sinks are probably ok if they’re cast or milled. Paint will insulate but it won’t insulate a lot, and those things are more than half decorative anyway.
