Bluetooth remote switch?

Jsos16

I have a cat door but don't want uninvited guests getting through. Can I place a bluetooth transmitter on my cats collar and wire the cat door so that it remains locked unless my cats collar is in close proximity? I understand this may not prevent all uninvited guests but it should be better something than nothing.

There’s an app for this. Also a special cat door, though I suppose it would be possible to build your own. Perhaps an airlock type thing with two doors and room for only one cat in the lock.  Wouldn’t work for me.  All my cat doors are inset in human doors.  My suspicion is a trip to pets mart and a couple Benjamin’s is the quick way to solve this one.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
