Does this USB contain a virus?

I've recetly purchased an off-brand USB and I ran h2testw (capacity test tool) and the capacity was legit, but I'm scared it might contain a virus because I've formatted it and it still contains a few kb of storage, I'm not sure if it could be a hidden .exe or could it be some sort of firmware?
