PC not grounded properly?

This is pretty weird but my pc shocks me only when turned off AND unplugged. If I keep it plugged after I turn it off it doesn't shock me. I get shocked by touching the screws on the case, not the case itself. Is this normal? If not, does it damage my parts or just hurts me?

The PC is grounded via the ground pin on the power supply cable. So without that, whatever charge is on the case goes through you as you are now the path to ground once you touch that case.

Sooo I have to wait for my pc to discharge before I maybe work on it? And if I leave it charged, is it bad for the pc?

Or just leave it pluged in and turned off. That way it uses the power plug as a earth/grounding connector.

Ok, my pc stops shocking me about 30 mins after I turn it off. I'll just keep it plugged in till then.

I see.. any ideas on why it shocks me when turned off? Only my extension cord is grounded, not the wall outlet if that helps.

Then it isn't grounded. Better use a grounded socket for optimal safety if it's already having shock issues.
