Look at reviews of the specific drive, as there are many high performance dramless drives, and some pretty slow drives with dram.

yea performance is worse, but for most uses a dramless ssd will be more than plenty.

Will it affect its lifespan?

There isn't any good data, so I'm gonna say no. Drives without dram can last a long time, and ssd endurance isn't really a issue.

Drives can still fail at random with no warning, so make sure you have backups.

theres not a huge amount of differences. they will usually be slightly slower under sustained loads (5gb+ files), although past that they are mostly the same. ssds with dram are usually only 10 or 20 more so id just grab one with dram, but ultimately its your choice. depending on whether your looking for sata or nvme, the wd sn850x is on a pretty good price right now (80 for 1tb), or for sata ill always recommend the crucial mx500
