In addition to what @Skiiwee29 said, you may also need to pick at it to break away the crust on both the fan and the heatsink. 

 

Something that I do, to avoid scratches, is take a normal cotton swab, and cut the end off at an angle. Kinda gives you a small chisel. Or if you have a plastic or wood spudger/spludger, that would work better.

There are numerous studies from college of physicians and university's that conclude vaping is more than 95% safer and less harmful then smoking. My lungs aren't made of metal they are a self healing biological organism. Yeah vaping is bad and I'm going to quit but implying this has the same effects to my lungs as a metal computer part is silly.
