(Please excuse my English as it's not my first language)
Hey guys, I have a laptop that I've been using for 5 years now and after about 3 years I started to notice this weird white shade around the border of the display as seen in the picture and no it's not a software issue like drivers and stuff because I've searched for a solution to it and all of them say update graphics drivers which does nothing. The white shade always stays there even if the laptop is powered off. It was only a bit on the edges at first but then as time went on it grew into the screen. I've tried to connected it to a monitor and it was fine. Does anyone know what the problem is ? What caused the problem ? Is there a fix to it ?

Had the same issue with a car windscreen after cleaning it with a particular degreaser. It started nomming down on the different layers. And considering you've got these looks with the thing turned off... Did you clean the screen (in the past? Because it's purty durty RN)?

As the person above said, I would guess it's some sort of humidity or liquid damage of some sort.

It could maybe be something else too tho.

I've cleaned it the display mostly with just micro fiber cloth but I sprayed some hand sanitizing alcohol to get rid of the smudges that was caused by some greasy hands (the display is touch screen) and wiped it down after a couple of times before. Do you think the alcohol was the issue? I only did it at most 3 times during my 5 year of owner ship and if the alcohol is the issue how did it get in between the screen? since I only sprayed a in the middle because and wiped it down.
