While I was removing my graphics card to install some NVME storage, I could not help but notice the graphics card coming loose well before I thought it should, and after removing it noticed the locking mechanism was just gone. I don’t recall breaking it or it coming off at all. Just afterwords it being not present. Mysterious vanishing hardware issue aside, I'm now left with a missing lock. I know functionally it should be no issue at all, as long as I don't handle it too roughly and if anything makes it a bit easier. But modern graphics cards are heavy, I don’t like the idea that its missing. What are my options for finding a replacement? Would micro center help? The motherboard is a MSI Z59-A pro.

If you don't use your other PCIe slot, you might be able to pop its lock trigger out and snap it into the GPU slot.

plus its fine as long as u screw ur gpu to the chassis well

Gonna need a GPU brace one way or another anyway, with or without lock. Id recommend the pole style bracket in this case instead of the one connected to the pcie bracket of your case. Something like this, but its not hard and fast rule.
