Pwm splitter cable

RandomNeedsHelp
Go to solution Solved by IkeaGnome,

That missing pin is the pin that sends a tachometer signal to the motherboard. If you had 2 fans reporting speeds to the same header, the header gets confused. This is normal and the fan that will have speed read is the one with the 4 pin.

I dont know if this is the right place for this question, but im connencting my fans, so i thought it would fit cooling the most.

Im using 2 pwm splitter cables to connect 4 fans to 2 hubs. I am confused right now because both of my splitters have one pin missing in on of the pwm out ports. Is this normal or is it a bad batch or something? I would assume its a mistake in production, but since it is both of them, i want to be sure before contacting the seller...

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.
