monitors are very personal, buy it and see if you like it, if you do keep it and if not return it. Personally that would be too big for me but people are different

I hit 700W on an i5 with a NHD15

Also I'm 14 so please just confirm anything I say with someone more experienced

the size is fine for me because i will watch youtube and movies online

i had the AW3423DW before and sold it because it was 21:9 ultrawide

in this case the Gigabyte is 16:9 4k so i think will be better

but i'm not sure about the image quality

I don't think I'd be happy with the 48" but my 42" C2 is perfect on my somewhat deep desk.

48 inch may be too big on a desk. Sure it may fit on your desk but at some point monitor size can be too big.

If you can return the monitor after trying out I say go try it out. In my country there's no second chance once it's open and used so I'm more paranoid of making the right choice before buying.

In that case you need to be more cautious. Maybe get a measurement tape or any object like cardboard, or old TV.

Back then when shopping for LG C1 48 inch I experimented with my 40 inch TV and concluded it's too big on a desk so I decided to grab free TV stand and DIY kb+m desk.

for me the monitor size is not the issue, however i'm reading on reddit that

The only negative being that it does have a rather aggressive ABL at times when viewing static images and/or web pages for long periods of time.

It's also a lot dimmer than the LG and lacks the smart TV functionality. In return it offers DisplayPort and is cheaper in most places. If that's a tradeoff you're willing to make go for it.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Im thinking about the FO48U

Because of the display port 1.4

But im still reading and watching vedios

About it, still not sure if its a good monitor

Plus in my country its more expensive than

The Lg C2 42" by 200usd

The Lg in my country is 1000usd while

The gigabyte is 1200 usd.

Never did I think I’d care about the smart TV functionality of the C2 but boy, I ended up using it a lot.

There is also the Asus PG42UQ and PG48UQ, though I expect it to be a much more expensive option.

It's pretty much the same as the LG C1 48", but again, including DisplayPort and lacking the smart UI.

Me too. I never had a bedroom TV, but my current bedroom is also where my desk is at. My C2 is constantly used in it's TV mode now.

Now that I think about it, plus Stahlmann's responses, gaming OLED screens have compromises I wouldn't be happy to take.

This particular monitor have lower HDR brightness, matte screen instead of glossy, no way to disable ASBL, 48 inch instead of 42 inch and no smart features. Just wanna make sure you're fully aware what compromises you willing to take before making a purchase, as you said you can't return the monitor once opened.

Or you can take my original advice and swap your GPU with HDMI 2.1, maybe with 3060ti/6700 instead.

To be fair, for monitor usage, the TV functionality hurts more than it helps.

Your TV does not go to sleep, doesn't wake up with your PC natively (Third-party apps help but you also often have to reconfigure it after every update) and some GPU features may break or not working correctly.

Still, it's well worth the discount, the better coating and the extra brightness (plus extended burn-in warranty.) But if you have a choice between a monitor and a TV at similar price (or even slight premium), a monitor will always perform better as a display (becasue.. well, it is a monitor)

You're right I did not list the pros for having the monitor. Also like to add is that TV may have too much settings, basically need to follow a long list to make sure everything is set correctly. But if I am given the choice between the two at the same price I would go for TV as it fits my own use case better.

I can only talk about my own experience with my C2 and the Color Control app. I never had to reconfigure anything and there are no broken GPU features. The TV correctly turns on and off when my PC is turned on or off or when it's entering sleep, waking up etc. It behaves like I'd expect any monitor to behave. The only "issue" i've encountered is that sometimes the TV takes 5 seconds or so longer to turn on than my normal side monitor.

And the app offers other bonuses, like access to the service menu and it is a great tool for ANY monitor, not just OLEDs because you can set up different dithering modes for better gradient handling, force HDR, etc.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

I use LG TV Companion so I can't say anything about Colour Control. But are you sure that everything works out correctly? I might try it out if that's the case.

For me wake up and go to sleep function is the biggest issue. Because it works by basically turning off the TV and turning it back on when I started moving my mouse or something. This cuased all of my windows to resize because the OS basically treat the event as display disconnect and reconnect again and it's very annoying. I've found my workaround by just don't allow it to go to sleep but let Windows do a blank screen saver instead but then C2 just thought the TV had been turn on for too long and started displaying their own firework screen saver instead, which is pretty annoying.

Then again, even if your work, having to jump through hoops and hacks just to get the basic monitor functionality to work, just isn't ideal and is not a good overall user experience. I stand by my words that, it's probably doesn't worth it for most people.

It works pretty much the same way as LG TV companion, basically just acting as a wifi remote. But it's been very reliable in my case. It will also turn the TV off when the PC enters sleep or turns off the display. In W10, some apps might move when it turns back on, but on W11 that won't happen as the OS remembers where the apps were.

It's not 100% on the same level of convenience as just having a monitor, but  if you're using this app it's such a minor flaw imo that is easily justifies going for the TV instead of the monitor.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
