Mark Kaine
Go to solution Solved by Mark Kaine,

So yeah, as far i can tell it was the cheap ass "turtle beach" cable, will be sure to avoid that company in the future (currently using an old cable from a Samsung phone charger)

First i thought its my controller, but after trying 4 different ones i think its a windows issue but not sure how to fix it?

with one of them plugged in, go to device manager, find the unknown device, and try uninstalling the driver. then unplug/plug back in and see if the correct driver auto installs this time. that will hopefully get you going

thanks, very weird (for real) i tried all that before, but now i tried a different cable (the other one always worked so i didn't think its that) and no error message,  controller works as usual--  the real odd thing is though i also tried over Bluetooth before and that didn't work either (but it used to) so still a bit mysterious but at least it works now with that cable (not trying with Bluetooth now , too risky lol)
