Ok, I'm fairly new to the computer world so please don't yell at me if this is an easy fix or an obvious problem.

While playing Saints Row 4, and now Modern Warfare 2 Campaign, my computer will shut down at random times. I checked my temps with a couple of programs and my CPU temp normally is between 40-50C with stock cooling while my GPU is between 50-60C with stock cooling.

I don't know if those are good ranges or not but i believe it is a PSU problem. Before I can turn my computer back on I have to reset the PSU. Meaning turn it off and on again with the switch in the back of the desktop. Please help!

Here are my specs:

Processor:

AMD FX-6300 stock cooling and not overclocked

Motherboard:

ASUS M5A97 R2.0

RAM:

2x4GB G. Skill DDR3-1600

Storage:

1 SSD

1 HDD

Graphics Card:

EVGA Nvidia GTX 660 ACX FTW

Power Supply:

EVGA 600B 80+ Bronze

Case:

NZXT Case

Optical Drive:

LG optical drive

Operating System:

Windows 8.1 (64bit)

Yeah it does sound like a problem with the PSU. But it could also be the CPU/GPU, which for some reason, are unstable at their clock speeds.

But PSU would be my first assumption.

Yea I can, if it is in fact the PSU, do you have any recommendations for a new one?

What is your budget?

Is this a new PSU? If it is, you should try RMA

RMA? And I got this PSU back in early December last year (2013)

Return Merchandise Authorization, Did you buy it online? if you did you will still have the proof of purchase, if not, hopefully you have it somewhere though, you will have to prove its faulty for them to take it normally.

You wouldn't have any friends that would be gracious enough to let you test one of theirs? you said its a random issue, how random? once and hour, or day or week?
