Should I upgrade to the 6700 XT in 2023?

I know the semi-obvious answer to this question is yes, however i've got a RX 6600 and to me it doesn't sound like a large enough increase in performance, even though there is a roughly 30% performance bump, it also feels like upgrading in the same generation is kind of stupid, But the prices are fairly low, $100 AUD more then a 7600 for 20% more performance sounds like a pretty decent deal given the current line up from Nvidia and the the stupid 4060 ti. I also want to make the switch to 1080P high Refresh rate soon and i don't know if this can keep up with it at 120-144HZ  or is there a 30 series card which is faster for a similar price which is why i'm asking the forum for advice on the dilemma.

I would get a used 6800 xt or get a used 6800 xt later on when it drops in price as the 6700 xt is more of a high refresh rate 1080p card than a 1440p one

I would get the 6700 xt then. What frames are you getting in BF 2042 and far cry currently with the 6600?

At 1080 I get a fairly hitchy 60ish at low to medium settings in 2042 but that's better then before I got the 5600 on my 10100F, and a smooth ish 70 in far cry at medium to high settings but that's far cry 5

Worth it imo, It's around 45%-50% performance bump over 6600 at best unless you're bottleneck by CPU/RAM

But how much will it cost you?

You can expect about 50 fps more with ultra settings in bf 2042 with a 6700 xt

About $550 AUD which is roughly $360 USD which compared to a 4060 ti for $700 AUD is a crazy good deal

Thats not bad but crosscheck for lightly used one off gumtree. Recently a member on the forum here found one for 100 AUD less which would be a boon if you can confirm that it worked under heavy load.

I got a used 6800 at aud 520

Gaming on 1080p 144Hz, everything ultra and most games do over 120fps , with exception of badly optimized games of course

I checked on gumtree and theres a listing near me for $400 AUD I'm going to message them and ask if they can send some photos or a video of it running a game, or is there something in particular i should be asking them to run?

The most ideal thing to run would be Unigine Superposition, but that thing is multiple gigabytes in size. I really hate it but MSI Kombustor would be a good compact one. But yeah its still based on Furmark so remember that clocks would be lower because a lot of GPUs nowadays have built in protection against Furmark in specific due to it being unfairly hard. Its called "Fuzzy Donut of Death" for a reason.
