What build show I go with?

Theres two options for me currently. The only major changes are them is the CPU. One is a 520 Ryzen 7 5800x3d and one is a much cheaper Intel I7 13700kf. I am buying the GPU used and 450 is quite easy to find a 6700xt in Australia for!
Here are the builds.
Here is the one with intel ($1537 AUD)
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/zCGqDq
Here is the one with the AMD one ($1650 AUD)
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/JhFHwc
I'm not sure what one to go with, im thinking the Intel one is the better option since it's cheaper and has basically the same performance but im not really sure. Any help is appreciated!

i would avoid the asus motherboards because they have been having terrible rma processes and customer support lately and their qc has become very spotty, the only brands i really trust are msi and asrock kinda (msi is a w but adrock proiducts imo just look like renders)

I really wouldn’t go with an 11700k. I would get the 5800X3D build but I would get this mobo instead and take out that Wi-Fi adapter https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/P2cG3C/asus-tuf-gaming-b550m-e-wifi-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-tuf-gaming-b550m-e-wifi

Take my advice with a grain of salt.

As a great AI once said (fictional): '"Whenever your futurists envision the advent of artificial intelligence, their predictions invariably end with humanity attempting to destroy its unholy AI creation before it can destroy them. Why do you think that is?"'

This isn't the right mindset we should welcome AI, not attack them

Whats wrong with the 11700k? The intel build is currntly the build I wanting to buy since its a good $100 cheaper. I can't really sell my PC for 1600 seeing as its probably only worth around 1400.

Some ASROCK boards are pretty crappy as well. The reality is no brand is to trust, all of them sell both good and junk products.

OP should be encouraged to read reviews instead of felling inclined towards a certain brand because "oooooh this logo is evil".

It's a waste of money. That's what's wrong with it. Sometimes you think you save money by going cheap, but you are only delaying spending more money, which in turn means wasting more money rather than saving it.

It's simple math (not gonna mess with architecture differences here): 11th gen i7 is a 16 thread from an old-gen platform. 12th gen i7 is a 20 thread from a current platform and 13th gen is a 24 thread chip from a current platform as well.

The 5800X3D is a much better chip than it. I think its justified that it costs more

At 1080p youll be CPU bounded, you want a higher end CPU than just 11700K. Its good that you found a 6700XT for 450 though, its quite a deal for lightly used one.

5800X3D is scalped right now in AU, this build is only a few bucks extra but it uses 13600KF.

Thanks for the response! So the 13600kf out performs even the 12700kf? I don't need a 2tb M.2, just a 1tb for now atleast.
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/FvYNRv
Would the 5800x be better than the 13600kf?

So your saying that buying the 11th gen is wasting money? The thing for me is, im still young and my parents pay for this so this will be my build for about a year till I get a job.

My main question is would the 8 phase power design on this mobo
https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/B660M Pro RSax/index.asp
be enough for a 13600kf? It should be as one EPS cable is rated to carry 300 watts and its tdp is 125 watts.

Some mobos yes, like the entry level ones. The Steel Legend series though easily rivals the top brands' designs and certainly surpasses any Asus mobo. I've been daily driving Steel Legend from the time their first mobo came out and i have 0 negative things to say about it (aside from the RGB, which sometimes can get annoying, but you can always turn it off). I've also built a lot of rigs with them (mainly go with the AMD platforms there) and so far i've had a single issue and it was just a user error, but despite that i had the replacement board before i even sent out the old one.

The NV2 drives from Kingston are crap (both the 1TB and 2TB versions). Not very reliable and also not very fast either, especially for a "supposed" gen4 NVMe drive, so that's why they are cheap AF. So replaced it with one of the OG bests - the 970 Evo plus.

Also changed the memory to 3600MHz CL16 one instead of 3200MHz. with the 5800X3D and 1080p resolutions the difference is noticable.
