Not the first thing id really want to post on here but i want to warn people about the Cartridge reader that Save the Hero builders do.

I bought the device and got it in the mail several days ago. I used a standard phone cable as I didn't pay for the magnet cable as i didn't think i would need it (Boy was I wrong apparently).

Power it on and it worked, great! I was happy. So I turned it off and pulled the cable gently cause it was a little stiff going in and it just snaps clean off. Immediately I contact their customer service and as you can see in the image with a email. (I blurred my name.)

In Response which was pretty damn quick so points to them they say that there is no warranty for this type of issue unless you buy the magnetic cable from them and they will repair it for a price which you can see is in another image. Including shipping leads to around £48 (or 59.83USD or 80.80CAD) not including Tax or import fees I'm assuming.

I've a few issues here:

1st issue being that the power port was so weak that it took one gentle pull for it to be unusable, not to mention they already had another power port on the device they had before and didn't bother to remove it. it looks like it was barely soldered on properly.

2nd issue here is that as you can see in the email attached that there is a repair service option, also noticable is that in the email the pictures sent have busted usb ports as well.

This is already a known issue and yet they have not taken steps to rectify this in future builds, like its almost going to be a recurring thing for customers to have to pay for the repair service one way or another. As you can also see in the image for pricing that is £48.

3rd issue is the warranty. They say that there is no warranty on the device UNLESS you buy the magnetic usb cable. The problem here is that on the option to buy the item there is no option to buy it. You have to go onto a separate page to buy it. They should have included it in the main page or just add an extra couple of £'s and included it anyway. Saving people from having to worry and SAVING their warranty.

In conclusion, Please be careful when buying this product and learn from my mistakes.

£190 for the items i bought including shipping

£50 extra for import tax

Money (not) well spent.

Hello
First, I'm sorry to disappoint you.
Now, with the change to USB-C, it is more robust and much less likely to break.
We have also significantly revised our repair service costs.
We are not a large company, but a small group of craftsmen. Therefore, to make the repair service free of charge would have resulted in an immediate suspension of all service.
Please understand our situation.
Thank you.

ah, so warranty isn't a thing in your country?

honestly,  i don't understand the need to repair, just exchange the faulty item and be done with.
