Laptop 4070 stuck at 55 watts

Just got my Lenovo legion 5i pro today and noticed my 4070 won’t boost beyond 55 watts. This laptop is rated for 140 watts with dynamic boost but I’m pretty sure it should be able to boost more than 55 sustained. I’ve tried going through all of the performance modes and making sure my laptop is plugged in but it won’t go above 55 in game. Any ideas on how to fix this?

It is possible that your laptop is in Quiet Mode. Try switching it with Fn+Q combination.

Yeah I’ve gone through all of the modes, it seems that it’s stuck in the quiet mode for power consumption

Ok. So now I would try reinstalling/updateing chipset drivers, gpu drivers, Lenovo Nerve Cente and Lenovo Vantage. In this exact order.

I’ve already updated gpu drivers and Lenovo vantage as well as the bios which apparently had a fix for overall system power limit but I didn’t notice a change. I also don’t have Lenovo nerve center installed and don’t know where to download the chipset driver since there aren’t any driver or updates to download and install in Lenovo vantage currently as it says I’m up to date. Thanks for all you help too.

I am using Asus tuf a15. Same issue, but once the battery is fully charged, the gpu can run at 120w, so you may need to make sure the battery is at 100% or you can use some brand stock software to stop battery charge once it hit some percentage. e.g. 80%.
