Is there a way to make a ramcache on unraid for plex transcodes? I have been looking around and some of the help has been to use "/dev/shm" but I am not sure if this works.

My system has 32GB of RAM and was hoping to maybe get 8GB or so for a plex transcode ramcache.

Are your transcodes buffering currently?

Host Path 2: /tmp

is transcode in RAM afaik 😄

it would use all the ram it needs, its a docker. There is a way to cut down the Ram it can acces via the docker cmd.

Yes, use /dev/shm, this is what I do.

If youre using Plex docker on UnRaid, mount /dev/shm > /temp or /transcode or whatever you want to call it. Then in Plex set the transcoding folder to that /temp or /transcode path.
