Cpu Upgrade recommendations

Game at 3440x1440 @ 144hrz. My current Cpu is a 3700x and I just upgraded my gpu to a 3080ti. Not trying to upgrade anything else in the system. Current power supply is 750w

If you're just gaming, you could get something like the 5800X3D, that is arguably the best gaming CPU on AM4. It shouldn't require upgrading anything else in your system, just a BIOS update.

5800x3d if your mobo supports it.  5700 if it doesn't.

yeah go with the 5800x3d, great cpu for gaming. You could probably get away with a 5700x too.

Agree with the others but have you tested it yet?  At 1440p I'd think a 3700x should still be OK, but maybe not.  I would test the system, see how your framerate does, and if it sucks check utilization on your lead threads.  Then, decide if you need a new CPU.  You very well may, but I would definitely test it out first with your current setup.
