Game at 3440x1440 @ 144hrz. My current Cpu is a 3700x and I just upgraded my gpu to a 3080ti. Not trying to upgrade anything else in the system. Current power supply is 750w

yeah go with the 5800x3d, great cpu for gaming. You could probably get away with a 5700x too.

Agree with the others but have you tested it yet?  At 1440p I'd think a 3700x should still be OK, but maybe not.  I would test the system, see how your framerate does, and if it sucks check utilization on your lead threads.  Then, decide if you need a new CPU.  You very well may, but I would definitely test it out first with your current setup.
