3770K with a 3080, need to unbottleneck

iTonyy

Budget (including currency): 500

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Assasins Creed, Cyberpunk, League of Legends

Currently running a 3770k with a rtx 3080 and only recently realized how extremely bottlenecked my 3080 is. Would like a mid-budget cpu platform upgrade to unbottleneck my gpu.

I mostly play casual esports titles, with the occasional AAA game. I'm thinking the best value would be a second-hand 5600X with a B550 motherboard.

Open to suggestions if anyone has a recommendation.

3770k, Asrock Extreme 4, 16GB Dominator Plat, AX760i, 250GB BX100, 1.5TB Seagate, Win 7 Home Prem

Go with a solid Noctua cpu cooler and 16GB of RAM should be plenty for now. You can always add a second kit later.

Eh. 3600X would be a better buy for used, with it being similar in performance to 5500 but cheaper. Id definitely go for dead stock cooler, it doesnt matter much on such a low TDP for stock operation in games.

For performance similar to 5800X3D you could also go for 13600. If you are going to go down to 13400 or 13500 to compress this to sub 500, at markets with similar cost to 12600K, go for that instead, but it isnt as cost effective as just going for Ryzen 5 5600 in the first place.
