I was live-chatting with Asus support and took the time to ask about their mobo lines. I thought this info would be useful, as I've seen people make incorrect claims about some things, especially OCing the CPU. I would've asked more but the agent abruptly ended the chat for no reason. He did NOT comment on enterprise mobos, nor even mention that they exist. This is specific to Asus - other manufacturers may add to the required minimum specs provided by AMD and Intel differently.

According to the person today, ALL AMD mobos can.
Prime (general use): only Intel Z mobos can overclock.
Tuf Gaming (gaming, less features): only Intel Z mobos can overclock
ROG (gaming, more features): all

Pro Art (creators): all

I know from previous info that some others, like the B760M-E D4 can, too. There is a video that explains about overclocking and AI OCing, but I was unable to locate it.

In addition, some Asus mobos offer AI OCing. Here's an article with further info on that.

If anyone has more details, or details for other manufacturers, can you please share?

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

What would be the best for intel OC'ing?

I hit 700W on an i5 with a NHD15

Also I'm 14 so please just confirm anything I say with someone more experienced

For what purpose are you using the PC? Do you mean Asus or any brand? Which Intel CPU? You need to be specific so people can give the best advice.

Sorry, Asus in general because it looks like they have the best features. I have a i5-13600K that kinda just takes all the power I throw at it. As of right now like 350W peak.

Again, what are you using your PC for: general, gaming or creating?

All of the above

What do you do the most of, or which earns you money?

@SorryClaire LOL! Yeah, well, for Grandma Prime is gonna be enough, right? 🙂  What do you think about Bob's question?

Well, then, get a Pro Art. What's your budget, and which CPU?

Narrow down the list by looking at Pro Art that has both regular and AI overclocking.
