New build reboots while gaming in high fps/graphic load.

I'm a bit desperate, i'll try to explain my problems and when they started

Windows 64

CPU - Ryzen 9 5950x (not overclocked)

Cooler - Be QUiet! Dark Rock Pro 4

MB - Asus ProArt x570 Wifi Atx

Memory - GSkill Ripjaw 64 G 3600 MHz

SSD Samsung 980 Pro M.2 1 TB

GPU - Gigabyte Vision RTX 3060ti OC (not overclocked)

PSU -  Corsair HX1500i 80 Plus platinum 1500W

Monitor - Samsung Odyssey G5 curved 27" QHD 144hz VA

Initially this build worked just fine with a crappy IPS monitor with 60 ms response time, the crashes (throttlings? rebootings?) started when i upgraded to the Odyssey.

i can give you the difference based on Overwatch 2 gaming settings

SETTINGS BEFORE (crappy ips monitor)

Resolution 1080 p

Fps Unlimited (average 100 fps output)

Graphics ULTRA

no problem at alll, never crashed, never throttled, never rebooted, fps smooth like fine wiskye

SETTING AFTER (Odyssey 144hz QHD)

test 1

Resolution 1080p

Fps 144 (capped)

Graphics ULTRA

crashed after 15 minutes. The screen just freezes, become black and the the system reboots.

test 2

Resolution 1080p

Fps 144 (capped)

Graphics HIGH

crashed after 60 minutes.

in every scenario after the crash/throttle/reboot the CPU has the temps of a volcano erupting magma, while the 3060 GPU remained always on 60-70 degrees celsius.

My thoughts:

-i have a weak CPU cooler

-i have a weak GPU

-there is some software problem that stops the graphic load to go to the GPU and puts everything on the CPU

Solutions i would happily accept:

-buy a stronger GPU (brand new Gigabyte aero 4070? Gigabyte aero 4090? i have an all white build ) no budget limit but i would do it only if you make me sure it won't crash again (i tried a 3090, but it was used, with a GPU fan not working and it crashed anyway)

-buy a better CPU cooler (for white build)

-software correction to let the 3060 do her job, but i would play on high fps quality ultra/super on overwatch 2 and, for example, Plague tale requiem 60 fps, 1080p, mid graphics without her exploding.

Can you help me?

Thanks, Max

This is a REALLY weird build. You fresh built AM4 in mid 2023? Also, a 5950x and a 3060ti is not balanced. Can you return any of this stuff? I'd go a completely different path

can't return anything but that's not an issue. i would like a solution with this build as is or with just the minimum upgrades, i have no budget limit but i don't want to buy all the build from scratch.

like... buying both new GPU and cooler? great

buying MB CPU GPU and cooler? less great

What case do you have? That Cpu cooler is more than enough for the 5950x. And was the GPU used when you bought it?

First you should identify why it crashes...

What are your CPU temps? Power draw ?

System : AMD R9  7950X3D CPU/ Asus ROG STRIX X670E-E board/ 2x32GB G-Skill Trident Z Neo 6000CL30 RAM ASUS TUF Gaming AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC Edition GPU/ Phanteks P600S case /  Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 cooler (with 2xArctic P12 Max fans) /  2TB WD SN850 NVme + 2TB Crucial T500  NVme  + 4TB Toshiba X300 HDD / Corsair RM850x PSU

Your cooler is a mighty beast so unless you have mounted it incorrectly it is not a problem.

GPU : RTX 3070 Gaming X TRIO | CPU : Ryzen 5 7600 \ COOLER : Deepcool AK620 | MOBO : ASUS TUF Gaming B650 Plus | RAM : Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 16GBx2 6200 MHz \ Storage : Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 1TB \ PSU : Corsair TX750M | CASE : Be Quite! Pure Base 500DX Black

OK so what are the temps for the gpu and cpu?

What is your case?

you can run a 5950x stock on a ak400 that dark rock is by far enough.

Is that a 4x16gb ram kit?

i have a mild knowledge so i can't really track everything.

i usually found 0x00000124 and whea logger errors when the crashes happened.

i have a Be quiet! Pure Base window 500, 14mm fan x 2 input, 14mm fan x 1 output.

32 G x 2 3600 Mhz memory kit

The 3060 is brand new.

i don't know power draw. Monitor and pc are on a power strip with 3 meters long cable to an old wall socket.

GPU averages 60-70 c°

CPU 70 - 80 C°, but i don't know if it spikes to 100 C° when throttling, i just know that when pc boots up again the cpu fans run like Dominic Toretto.

Ok so i thought that my problem were the crappy wall outlet and power strip, so i tried the build on brand new outlets, separated for pc and monitor, no power strip.

Overwatch 2 at 1080p, 166 fps capped, ULTRA graphics, still with the Gigabyte vision RTX 3060ti

It crashed and rebooted after 15 minutes

I get critical errors on kernel power

(70368744177664),(2) and  0x8000400000000002

i also get simple error on Memory AFTER the reboot

WHEA-Logger Machine Check Exception 0x8000000000000000
