Moniter keeps blanking in the middle of usage and won't turn back on

Farmereman04

I haven't had this issue until recently, but if I leave my computer alone and the moniter turns off due to inactivity, it won't turn back on. The fans and all peripherals are still on except the moniter. And not I am having the issue of it just randomly going blank and not turning back on even when I'm using it.

The problem persists across different monitors and cables. I have tried everything from repeating RAM and GPU to using DDU to uninstall graphics drivers and reinstalling them. Even reset Bios settings to default and nothing I have tried has solved the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

CPU: Intel Core I5 4460

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580

RAM: 8GB Corsair DDR3 1333 mhz

MoBo: AsRock B85m-ITX

PSU: RoseWill RD500-2SB 500W

Moniter: Old Dell That I have never had issues with before

OS: Windows 10 latest update

That is so interesting as I am having something quite similar with my Gigabyte 4090 OC which they released a firmware patch which worked for about a month and then the same issue.  I can get it to resend a display signal by unplugging the DP cable from the back of the card or monitor and then plugging it back in.  Does yours work if you do that by any chance?  I still cant' figure out what it is but in Gigabyte's 4090 case they recognized and attempted to solve it.  A specific Windows issue in my case as it always shows the bios etc just not windows.

Hi and welcome,

Have you tried enabling hid keyboard to wake it up in Device Manager?

A next troubleshooting step could be to try a different monitor? Depends if you have another one available to you or not but it would be helpful and isolate the problem to either your monitor, or your PC. Or even, try a different input device into the monitor such as a laptop, console, or something with HDMI to see if the monitor exhibits the same issue. If it does, seems more likely that it is a monitor problem.

This moniter that I am using does not have a driver from what I can find.

Can you explain how to disable MPO, I've never heard of that before.

Nothing else that I have connected to this moniter has this issue.

Try changing that yes. See how it goes, a bit of testing.

Ok, will do. I will report back if it happens again. If it does not I will mark as solution.

Yes great. Good luck. It may not solve it but worth a try.
