It depends. What components are going into this rig?

 

If it is fairly simple, I would recommend the Cooler Master N200. Don't go Core 1000. It is too small, and it has bad airflow for a decent system. If she is watercooling, get an Arc Mini R2 to avoid the inevitable Corsair quality control issues.

i'm a fractal design nut, but the core 1000 is a starter case to just get you going.

trying to use it for a permanent solution is not very performance oriented.

 

i'd save for a bit longer to explore the fractal design arc mini R2.

storage, less flex in chassis (sturdy), less fingerprint issues, and if looking to

custom h2o cooling, more friendly and optional.

Corsair Obsidian 350D

The 350D is far from compact and is as big as other mid towers.
