On my fujitsu lifebook a544, the system process is constatly at around 30%. I've tried disabling my wifi and network drivers in device manager, but it doesn't affect it. I'll attach images of my task manager and of process explorer.

Mine is like this too..

Just seems a little high, especially for this quad core 2.5

  • 1 year later...

I have exactly the same problem.  Did anyone manage to solve it?  Looking in the resource monitor it looks as if the issue is "System Interrupts".  Googling points to a problem with a driver but I haven't been able to figure out which one.

I'm using the latest BIOS and drivers from Fujitsu.

I think it must be a problem with Windows 8 as a Windows 7 install on the same machine runs at the usual 2/3 percent CPU at idle.

EDIT:

If anyone else has this problem - The problem was a driver from the Fujitsu site.  I installed their DeskUpdate tool from here -> http://support.ts.fujitsu.com/download/ShowFiles.asp?LNG=COM

Once it had done is autoupdate everything returned to normal.
