Laptop and water

The title says most of it but I will explain.

My dad's laptop this morning after his daily before work use was okay after without him knowing he placed it on a wet surface which still had some water but not a lot. The laptop now, doesn't switch on. The HDD light and power light do switch on when connected to the charger but I told him to switch it off and battery off and let it dry in a hot and dry place like the old ltt video with that windows 8 laptop. Should I do something more?

Take the bottom cover off, remove the battery and charger, dab up any dampness you see with a paper towel, leave it someplace warm and dry for a couple days, and cross every digit you've got in hopes that nothing got fried when he tried to use it wet.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.
