CPU Fan warning with AIO

Building my first computer in many many many years, legit 25 years!  First time working with and AIO.  I'm getting a CPU fan error on my Asus x670E motherboard - is that expected since nothing is plugged into the CPU fan header only the AIO header.  I would have assumed Asus would accept either.

There's usually an option in the BIOS to turn off that warning.

It's intended as a precaution against a dying CPU fan, although it tends to clash with water cooling. You can turn off the check in the BIOS by changing Monitor > CPU FAN Speed to "Ignore".

Thanks folks! What I suspected but didn't want to guess. 

 

Now I just need to figure out why my CPU is getting so hot after just 2-3 minutes. Likely my thermal paste.
