i have a xeon E5 4669 v3 18 core.

Gigabyte udr4 x99 rev 1.1

3200 mhz ram corsair rgb pro

sk hynix p31 gold 1TB

Gtx 960

I am just runing android emulators and going for 12 at a time. I think my bottle neck is the ram. I am getting some crashes and  windows shutdowns/BSOD. it was not  like this  before.

Everything  has  been updated and  no errors  on device manager. so i benchmarked all hardware and  everything  cam up fine

1. Cpu passed

2. Gpu Passed

3 Memory passed

I cannot pin down exactly what is going  on, so i thought i might ask here. Thanks ahead  of time.

i was wondering  if  the 3200mhz ram was conflicting with the 2400 mhz  limit on cpu

Not conflicting per se, merely being wasted, since the CPU can't take advantage of the faster RAM.

Will pass mark tell me what stick is bad ?

Or will prime 95 do this?

Are they both credible programs ?

Passmark won't specify which stick is bad. You have to test that yourself.

Prime95 is not that great for detecting RAM problems, rather CPU (OC).

Both programs are credible though.

Ok do they make a standalone ram tester, or do you have to use a fully configured PC?

I think testing either one by one or in pairs till the faulty stick(s) is found might be a good idea. If theres only 2 sticks then it's easy.

So for testing ram, Is Passmark the best solution ?

Or...what is the best solution for testing ram?

Memtest86 and Memtest86+ are also for testing RAM, but Passmark test I'm sure would not report faulty errors.

ok one stick was bad  it seems others are ok.

im trying to wipe an m.2 drive and  my motherboards secure erase is dead....hhmmmm ?

anyone recommend a  solution instead  of doing a wipe, i would  like to use a reset  instead ???

isn't this easier  on m.2 to set them all to zeros ?

its an older system,  I know  its  time, but  if  i can scrape  through the next few months it  might  be helpful....thank you  in advance  for your time and  help

Well everything is stable now after wiping m.2....New 64 GB of ram coming.

Hopefully will help stabilize RAM issue.

I have 40 GB of ram in there, and although timings are different, it's running much better than before.  Replaced a fan....NZXT fan crumbled....lol...bad mix on that plastic....lol

Temps look pretty good eh ?

So I'm going to replace 8 120mm fan....I like the Thermaltake ring, Blue....

Anyone have a preference or some feedback on which fans are good.

Thanks in advance again
