Hey.

I wanted to ask about liquid cooling a GPU. So I'm thinking to buy a used liquid cooled RTX 3070 manufactured by EKWB (I particularly chose it BCS it's only 180$) but because it's a water blocked card I can't really efficiently cool it BCS my rig doesn't have neither a pump or other liquid cooling required parts. The problem is as it turn out liquid cooling is really expensive and does somebody know any other cheaper way that I could cool this GPU.

you don't need to get a 3070 waterblocked

Also i wouldn't get a 3070 full stop (vram)

I would get a 6700 xt for 190 and its cooled https://www.ebay.com/itm/374626813130?epid=14045661159&hash=item57397f84ca:g:wUYAAOSw0iJkLDvF&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwCpj55VE8h8lk4kwYk0hrxGK8ZbJQSbzimHKyBfc0I0WqVL0vkT5oBr2DnuwLxypArEaZ12RYvoBUzNtVVtq6oBQRQ%2Bzpm8VEhskXUR55H8b%2FZAnM85OrTlvptCsVkkQRZkZ3tiOfyMtgywYdcP13PszrBrUhxRTvxR9aMjvg%2BoGcv5f2JjgDoOGzkb739YLuxNCJpXx2%2FlCBY2Ol5mN7HGqQXnFAQY%2FcxJjq6vQtH0rOloxcG1mt7JEhRSUwjsp0w%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR8jUybXvYQ

You'll need to either return the graphics card or buy a radiator, pump, tubing and fittings for it.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Appreciate the reply and suggestion but my problem is I know I don't need a water blocked RTX 3070 but the thing was I spotted one for a such a good price and my question was are there any aftermarket coolers they I could get and put that RTX PCB and get RTX 3070 much cheaper.

Just take the waterblock off and put a aftermarket air cooler or a GPU AIO, just make sure you have thermal paste and some extra pads just in case. Otherwise, you have to build out the water loop for the block OR get a totally different card.

ye i agree

OR just cable tie some fans onto it

I guess you guys just wasted OPs time on that really. Arctic ended their custom GPU cooler support for forever, same with other AIO makers for GPU AIO solution except for Alphacool with their Eiswolf 2 solution, which doesnt have 3070 block so OP is going to have to jank that in which i never seen worked in field.

There's also not a Raijintek that is compatible with a 3070, so I wouldn't count on that either.

Depending on what GPU it is, there's a chance you can find the original cooler second hand.

That not true. You can put almost any AIO on a gpu chip and put some mem sinks on the memory and there you go. This is the problem with PC's anymore, people dont want to nor even try to think out of the box and do a little modding. You could put a whole heap of air coolers, low profile, and cool it also. It CAN be done if you REALLY want to do it.

No i know on the former but with how hot GDDR6 and GDDR6Xs are now, i dont think passively cooling it with case intake fans is enough.

Im a proponent for PC modding but when its just going to be fools errand thats where you gotta explain the why besides amusement.

Yeah, passive cooling with PROPER case airflow will work just fine. My 3090 FTW3 has copper slabs on the back mem slabs with the metal backplate on top and i top out at the worst of times at 82c maybe....the worst EVER. Anything can be done if you want to do it. Frozencpu is having a going out of biz sale with some older stuff for cheap too, so if you put some effort in you can find things, you can mod things and you can make things work. Believe it! 😉

Yeah, aware. Just not something im truly comfortable recommending to an utter rando on the internet. Sounds cool though if ebay shipping and import tax here isnt nightmare and a half.
