Should I qflash+

Hyperpower_BHAM

I'm building a new system with a Aorus B650 Elite AX.  I have all my parts MINUS the 7800X3D, which will get here Friday.  Should I do a QFlash+ to update the BIOS prior to getting the CPU or try my luck at getting it to boot with the CPU installed and then doing a BIOS upgrade?

If the BIOS ships with a particular version then it might need an update before you can use the CPU.

EDIT:

Checked PCpartpicker with the 7950X3D and it seems like its good to go.

The BIOS updates since launch do improve a lot of compatibility for RAM and PCIE devices. Probably not a bad idea. As long as the motherboard manual doesn’t suggest POSTing prior to any BIOS updates, I’d say it’s a good idea.

Does that mean the 7800X3D won't have issue?

Right, no 7800X3D on the list...

Not yet anyways. I'd assume they would add it soon. 7800X3D is fairly new

Right, folks are saying that upgrade to one of the two newest BIOS and they are able to use it.  Aorus might just be lazy with that chart.  I'm doing the QFLASH right now to F5A - https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B650-AORUS-ELITE-AX-rev-1x/support#support-dl-bios

Will I need other AMD specific drivers once I have windows loaded?

Maybe chipset drivers? Wouldn't hurt to make sure those are up to date.

If you have USB flashback, there is no reason not to just update the board as soon as you get it out of the box instead of rolling the dice, something not working, and having to do it later. I do this with every board, especially with brand new platforms. Takes 5 minutes.
