So I have set up remote access for my home computer. My problem is that I can only use it to connect on the same network. I see there are some solutions out there. One I am not open to port forwarding. It’s too big of a risk for all the personal information I have on my computer. Is there a way to use RD client on an outside network? Or is there a better option.

Running your own VPN would be the best option if you want to use RDP. DO NOT forward SMB or RDP ports out in the open.

Tailscale, although personally I'd consider my own VPN with a port forward much more secure than trusting a third-party to relay the connection.  With your own VPN, only YOU have the encryption keys and the port being open is useless to anyone who doesn't have a key.

I'm not sure what kind of security you need for your setup. But I use Chrome Remote Desktop. It works over the internet and will allow multiple devices.
