i bought some new parts for a new build

rog strix z690-f gaming wifi

trident z5 F5-6000J3636F16GA2-TZ5RK

Intel i9 12900k

rtx 3070ti

sabrent rocket 4 plus 2tb

corsair rm850x

plugged er' in, update bios, plug in monitor and started it up..... only NO POST and DRAM light is on... ok no problem right?

take out the GPU, try the integrated graphics... still same problem, i checked all connections, everything was plugged in correctly and in the correct places.

OK, something might be broken, I'll replace the RAM, it was probably the ram, right?.... incorrect!

insert new RAM

corsair platinum ddr5 32gb CMT32GX5M2X6000C36

plug er' in and start it up..... same problem.... hmm.... just to be safe i'll change the CPU and Motherboard (may as well upgrade it while i'm at it)

insert new CPU and Motherboard

Intel i9 13900k

rog strix z790-f gaming wifi

plug er' in, update bios, start it up, still no post and DRAM light is on.... i'm honestly lost, please help me.

Either you're cursed either you forgot to properly plug/seat something 😛

Did you reset BIOS on each attempt ?

Checked boot with only 1 RAM stick using every slot until it works ?

i checked the PSU, everything is plugged in properly

i reset the bios each time, still nothing

i tried 1 stick of ram... and using 4 different sticks of DDR5 in each slot

definitely cursed my dude.

But that makes no sense you've already swapped all parts !!

Can you post pics on your PC/board when booting ? There may be some stupid build mistake ...

UPDATE

So I got both ram sticks working In the 3rd slot A2* (I think, I'll have to double check) this is my second mobo, so I doubt it's a mobo problem (last mobo it didnt work in any slot) what else can the problem be? 😅

What's the fix for that kind of problem?

Take the system out of the case, place on something like a phone book, plugs everything back in, and see if the issue goes away. If it doesm then you likely have a connection between something electrical and grounding out in the case, in which case (erm...) you'd have to manually inspect the mounting points and see where it might be occurring.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.
