Scanning & Repairing Disk

Hello all,
I am fairly new here.
I came here to ask for assistance on an error that is happening to my PC.
Every time I boot it up there is Disk scanning and checking etc.

**Yes I have let it scan and repair however after turning on again or restarting it, in continues to display the same text**

**This has only started happening since yesterday**
Yes I have force shut it down in the past, but that was a few weeks ago.

No I haven't been on any sketchy sites that have lead to a virus attack.

I am thinking it could be a power issue as my PC was plugged into the wall (but off) when my father had to change wiring in the roof.

I have tried fixes on youtube and basic webpages about using the windows scan and tools, properties features etc however still no luck and I was thinking I may need to just reset the PC

Specs
OS: Windows 11 Home activated

MotherBoard: Prime Z690-P Wifi

Ram: DDR5 32GB 5200mhz

SSD: 1TB Crucial P5 M.2

it'll take a while but let it do the disk check. it should disapear... (i'm saying this becausse you didn't say you let it run)

it has detected an issue with your boot drive and wish to run checkdisk on it.. what's the problem, just let it run at then it will stop, it's not an error message. it's just telling you what it wants to do.

after it runs, it will be happy and stop

Thank you for responding, yes I did forget to let it run so my bad on that. However when I do let it run it only takes under 10 seconds as it shows 7 seconds in the image, right after those 7 seconds are up it immediately finishes and goes back to the login screen.

Would this just be an issue that will go away over time?

Thanks for responding Robchil, I forgot to mention in the post I do let it scan and repair however after that it goes straight to the login screen.
After checking control panel maintance it continues to display red and "Restart is required" However after restarting and waiting it continues to say reparing and scanning disk.

that only happens if you hit a key. if you don't touch anything it doesn't stop and it does the check

Hello Squinty thank you for responding again.
I proceeded to restart my PC and it again showed the same thing, I didn't hit any keys and it went back to the login page after a few seconds.
After that I went to control panel and it still stated a restart was required, after doing so I was greeted with the same message, and again I left it to do it's thing without hitting any keys and it took me back to the login.
I have done this multiple times before the post (without pressing any keys) and 3 more times after making the post.

Is there any issue to why this is happening?

I am letting the drive scan however after I restart from logging in it proceeds to do the same thing.

.... weird

maybe one of the "fixes" you tried auto cancels it.

you can manually run it in a command prompt window and maybe it'll know it ran and not think it's required anymore.

simply call chkdsk in a cmd window(running as administrator)

it's fairly descriptive of what it does and finds so you can simply read what it says and understand it.

Hello again
After trying chkdsk whilst being in the admin account I recieved this
**Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges or
the disk may be locked by another process.
You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode
and make sure the disk is unlocked.**

I have tried /scannow aswell but havent had any luck

that message appears if you're not running the command prompt in admin mode.

if you type cmd in the windows start menu this should show up.

yeah.. the problem is that you can't run scandisk on the system disk inside windows. that's why you get checkdisk message at boot.

you can boot into repair mode, run cmd promt as admin, you will need to enter admin password. and type checkdsk c: to manualy start it, it could also be that your disk actually has an issue. and that's why the automatic one fails.
