Hey guys

I cant seem to find a CPU cooler that fits my needs - so i hoped you could help me.

• Performance of it isn't the biggest issue - I wont be heavily overclocking, so anything really goes.

• It has to be silent, that's why i prefer an air cooler with a silent fan, instead of an aio.

• Looks matter, why spend a ton of $ on color coordinating the rest of your system if the cooler looks like garbage. - Black/red theme - if possible, ill prob switch the cooler fan with a Corsair SP120 or 140, so compatibility with 120 or 140mm fans would be appreciated.

• compatible with high profile RAM kits

Get a NH-u14s and replace the fans with noiseblocker Eloops if you care about looks, don't get corsair fans you will only make it louder and perform worse.

1. Nothing with moving parts is silent

2. Corsair fans are pretty far from quiet in general.

3. It would help to know what you're cooling.

Aesthetics should never be a higher priority than performance. The previously mentioned Noctua NH-U14S is what I'd go with, given that you desire a silent air cooler that is compatible with high profile RAM kits, but I'd keep the stock fan since it's really optimized for that cooler. Noctua's aesthetics are an acquired taste.

I agree with this gentleman. The NH-U14S performs very similar with the NH-D14 while taking up half the space. It is able to handle 3770K at 4.6Ghz very well. Here's a review in case you are interested.

Like many people have said, the nh-u14s is a great option. I have it and it keeps my 8320 cool at 4.4ghz and it's quiet as hell. I've had to move my ram kits a slot over because they touch the cooler and that doesn't make me comfortable, although they fit. I have the Patriot Viper 3's. Also, it hovers over the first pci-e slot on some boards. Get the dark rock 3 for aesthetics but the noctua is better.
