Hi guys, i build my first computer recently. i saw that to get the ram speed that you bought you needed to activate xmp profile on the bios settings, but when i do that and do save and quit the pc tries to boot a few times and when it finally boots the ram speed it is the same 2133 and not 3600.

i have 32gb of ddr4 g.skill ripjaws, amd rysen 7 5700x, motherboard is a gigabyte aorus b550 elite v2 and i have a 650w power supplie.

If you have any tips pls help me. And sorry if my ingles is not perfect.

Im not sure if it matters on your particular ram model, but intel uses XMP and AMD uses EXPO for ram overclocking. if your ram isnt rated for expo, it may not work.

Also, are you using 4 sticks or 2? There can also be issues running 4 sticks on a processors, but im not 100% sure if it applies to DDR4, it definitely does for DDR5.

1. Does the sticks came as a kit of 4 or bought individually ?
2. Have you tried updating BIOS ?

There is approximately 99% chance I edited my post

the ram came in kits of 2. and i didn't try to update the bios cause i'm afraid of doing something wrong.

Well, when a set of ram sticks bought separately, there is a chance they won't work together well if the manufacturer changed the ICs at some point.
The usual problem caused by it varies, but most common is crashes and stuffs when XMP is turned on.

This usually solved by manually overclocking the RAM (XMP is auto-overclock).

For good measure though, test each stick for defect as well.

Although, if you can still get a refund, I suggest to just refund it and get a 2x16 kit. Or a 4x8 kit if that's what you really want.

Preferably the model that is included in the motherboard's QVL too.
