Can I swap my existing MSI Aero 1060 with an Aero 3060 in my ITX case?

RiteshSingh93

So,

As I am trying to figure out how to upgrade my MSI Trident 3 purchased from Newegg shown here --> MSI Trident 3

It currently has a 1060 and I wanted to see if I can upgrade it with this 3060 shown here --> MSI 3060

Thanks.

If the 1060 in the system is a single fan dual slot GPU then yes, the 3060 you have linked should fit. If it's a single slot single fan GPU it may not. If you could take a picture of the back of the system where the GPU ports are I can tell you if it's single or dual slot.

Also keep in mind that the 3060 requires an 8 pin power connection off of the PSU so you'll need to make sure you have that available inside the computer as well. Just for good measure a picture of the inside would be appreciated as well.

Ahh I probably should have paid more attention to the pics when I was looking lol. Thanks. It should fit just fine, real question is if the system has the juice and connector for powering it.

If it's only a 230W PSU it's definitely not a good idea to run a 3060 in it. 3060s recommend a 550W PSU minimum so, unless there is a power supply upgrade available for that unit, which I doubt. OPs probably better off trying to get a motherboard, case, and PSU to move the CPU, Ram, and new GPU into. Or just saving their money and building a whole new system. The i7 7700 is getting up there in years and it may not be worth putting any money into doing a rebuild with it.
