Because you see some activity doesnt mean its fully utilizing them. Learn how threads & processes work before you go out and make claims like this.

what do you want? a 100% load on all core to be happy? it will never happen with an 8 core FX CPU...NEVER !

Does this game use 6 core or not? yes it does...having the lowest possible usage on each cores while having the game running on highest details possible with good framerate is WHAT YOU WANT...

that's the best scenario, it means that this chip can handle so much more...

Now please be polite i've been doing this for over 20 years kidd and i have no lessons to receive from you, neither that you will teach me anything okay...stay respectful and friendly or leave,

otherwise i will report you.

First of all EVERY game can use 6 cores these days, even 10 years old games such as WoW show activity on all of my 12 threads. Because you see some activity on a few cores doesnt immediately mean your 8350 outperforms a i3.

Did i said that? you sound like a big baby, i was not talking about 5% activity i'm talking significant threads, max payne 3 on my FX cpu does run 6 somewhat significative threads ranging from 30 to 60% of core usage...it is USING 6 main threads...

and i never said anything about comparing it to an intel CPU please take a deep breath fanboy and clam down ok! Of course it does not outperform a dual core CPU...after all it's only a 4.6Ghz 8 core CPU...that score over 750 points in cinebench...what is the best cinebench score for a core i3? that should be a good indication of the overall performance of a CPU, NOW i said it, an FX 8 core CPU TOTALY ANIHILATE A CORE i3 CPU IN ANYTHING THAT USE 4 HEAVY THREADS OR MORE!

Here, i took a screenshot for you, top left corner, that's what it looks like playing rockstar MaxPayne 3 on highest settings possible on an AMD FX 8 core CPU with a GTX 780 and Vsync on:

This game is breath taking BTW if you haven't played it i strongly recommand you get this game it's awesome.

You said that every modern game takes advantage of more than 4 cores which isnt true. Thief/Eso/Assassins creed/ etc. There are only a few games that do take advantage of them and thats why I've said the i3 is anytime a better value and performing cpu than a 8320.

these are not MODERN games, they are recent games, yes, but they are built on OLD game engines...Thief is built on Unreal Engine (you are probably too young to remember Unreal Tournament? it's that age old engine we are talking about) ...ESO, same thing old game engine, Assassin's creed, you must be aware that they are at the 6th assassin's creed, the first assassin's creed dates from 2007 and there hasn't been any update or refresh to the game engine since, it sill use only 1 or 2 heavy threads like it did back in 2007 when everybody where using dual core CPU's...do you understand ? But know, with the new generation of gaming consoles they will have to build new game engine or implant major refresh to allow them to code for the 8 thread capable gaming consoles...all the games you've mentionned are in tech terms ''old games''...they are not modern games built on modern game engines like cryengine or frostbyte for example...

Give me a list of games that do take advantage of more than 4 cores. Count to 3 you'd be done

Half of them don't do that and I can't check them all because I don't have them.

Well feel free to check them out i own most of them and i can confirm they do use more than 4 heavy threads, anyone in the business will confirm you that too !

I'm telling you this: i know much more than you do and it shows, you aint gonna see the end of this tunnel with me tonight son.

Would you be surpised if i would told you that i worked as a level designer for ubisoft montréal from 2006 to january of last year? I saw the early stage developpement

for the game watch dogs, i've worked on assassin's creed 1, 2 and 3 and i have my name in the end credit of all those games that i've worked on...i worked on prince of

persia: warrior within, some Tom clancy's splinter cells games too, far cry 2 and so many other not so famous games...it was great time working for them !
