Pixel 6 or Pixel 6a?

Hello everyone,

I am deciding to buy a new phone, and I want to get the Pixel 6. Problem is, I don't know whether to get the 6 or 6a.
The price for the 6 is around $260 (6a is around $255). Now at this point it's pretty obvious right? Not so much.
I am worried about the battery life of the device, and also bugs. I heard a lot of rumors about the 6 and how it's supposedly been fixed, but not sure about this yet.
So the three most important things for me are cameras, battery life and stable operation (little bit of bugs is fine, as long as the phone remains operable daily).
Why the 6/6a? Because I need a new one now. And my budget only allows for it (Pixel 7 is still expensive and out of budget range). If there are other great recommendations I'll take it into consideration, but considering the Pixel's superb reputation in photography I am leaning much to the Pixel.

Thank you.

I love my Pixel 6. The phone works superb, the camera is superb, the battery life is leaps and bounds improved, I can do a full ten hour workday and never charge and still have 70% or more when I get home.

The only, and I mean only, complaint I have with this phone is the sub-par fingerprint scanner in the screen. It is horrible. It is the only blemish on an otherwise near-perfect device.

I upgraded from a Pixel 4 that lasted maybe six hours 100% to 0% every day. I liked that phone but the 6 is leaps and bounds better. It's probably the biggest leap forward for the Pixel since the Pixel 2 that was my previous favorite.

Also I don't have to deal with shit like Bixby.

Pixel 6 pro here works great. No bugs.

Since Android 13 last fall the finger print sensor also works fine for me.

7a should come out soon. Not sure the cost.

But if it is just $5 between the 6 and 6a, the answer is obvious.

The bugs on the Pixel 6 when it first launched are now fixed.

My brother has owned a Pixel 6 a few months since launch.

I've owned a Pixel 7 since Nov-2022.

If you are gong to use any tempered glass screen / camera protector, to avoid / minimize and fingerprint sensor issues, read / check reviews.

Both my bother and I both use Spigen branded tempered glass protectors, so for, no issues.
