My pc and games keep on crashing since upgrading to New CPU

About a week ago i upgraded my system from an i3-8350k to a Ryzen 9 5900x, ever since then its been non-stop crashing (4 blue screens of death in the span of 5 hours), will not run games for more than 5-10 mins at most before black screening and crashing back to desktop, even on a game like world of warcraft it crashes.

ALL drivers are up to date, on the latest version of windows 10

 

Does anyone know why this is? I'm honestly tempted to sell the parts from my pc if i can't find a fix for it

 

My pc build is a little strange, but its a:
CPU - Ryzen 9 5900x
GPU - GTX 1660
PSU - Thermaltake 550w - 80Plus (what i believe to be the problem)
Ram - 16 gigs of corsair vengeance ddr4
Mobo - Aorus elite v2 b550

What 550w thermaltake?

 

Did you reinstall windows? A move like that will make windows unstable

Unsure, it just says 550w - 80PLUS, but i can open it up to check it out

No, i moved my ssd from my old motherboard to the new one, both M.2

my dad has offered to give me his power supply to see if that fixes anything, its an 850w one he used in his old pc, unsure if this one would be good for my build or not

Don't that is one of those psu's that lie about capacity.

Use the psu tier list for an a or b tier unit.

I found an EVGA b5 850w, will that fry the system as thats a large increase in W? its not on the tierlist

it is it's a good psu.

 

Also a psu will only provide as much wattage as the system is asking. Your pc wont suddenly use 850w now it will use the same (actually less because this one is more efficient) than before.

 

But again reinstall windows first that is broken most likely here
