Considering Hogwarts Legacy and other RAM hungry games is it okay to sticks with 8x2 total 16 GB RAM kits on 2023-2024?

Does anyone know why does Hogwarts Legacy have recommended 32GB of RAM un Ultra?

For entry-level gaming 16GB is still fine. One does not need to use 1440p (or higher) + high details.

But with the prices of DDR4 and the prices of DDR5 gooing down, it's actually not an issue to have 32GB and be all set for a couple years IF you already have a mid-range or higher system.

In my country one 16 GB am kit cost 49 dollar.

The games that require more than 16GB are very rare. I'd say in general 16GB is still fine.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

I run Hogwarts Legacy at 1440p ultra and I have 2x8GB, it runs fine.

16GB is still plenty for most games, only a select view games actually uses so much RAM.

If you already have a system on 16GB I'd just keep going until such time there is something which really needs more, then look at options.

 

If building new today, I'd certainly go 32GB right away. Especially for DDR5 as those 8GB modules are not a good choice, nor is going for 4 of them.
