I'm in college and cannot use my current laptop for more then 2 hrs before it dies. I am trying to find a tablet or laptop that has great battery life and works with a pen so i can actually write my notes instead of typing them. I looked at the new Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and S8+ but they are pricey and don't know if there is a better option that isn't Apple.

Try out this dell Inspiron 14-inch Laptop with 12th Gen Intel® Core™ Processor | Dell USA

Or this acer Spin 3 Laptop - SP314-55N-76EX | Acer Store – US

I know this thread is a few days old, but if you're looking for a tablet I'd actually recommend the Galaxy S6 Lite. My brother and I have purchased them for both of our parents over the course of the last two Christmases, and my brother just bought one for himself a few weeks ago. It's much cheaper than the S8, comes with an S Pen, and should be perfectly sufficient for basic note taking and the normal tasks you'd do with a tablet. If you (or a relative) have a Costco membership, you can get it bundled with the first party case that my brother says is pretty thoughtfully designed.
