Wanted a Windows Feature back

Before a year, when I used to put my PC to sleep, it just goes on full sleep mode, like i didn't used to hear fans, no LED on my power button, and no sound not even the sound made by fans. Complete sleep! I am missing that feature as that used to save a lot of power. But now it's completely gone! My PC now doesn't go to complete sleep. What could be the solution?

This not a Windows feature. This is your system that is failing to go to sleep properly.

You can generate a report via the command (run it by opening Windows Terminal or Command Prompt as Admin)

powercfg /energy /output c:/report.html

This report will help you troubleshoot what is not going to sleep.

You should have no errors.

Things to try (typically):

  • Some UEFI have options to keep teh RGB running while the system is sleeping. Make sure that it is turned off.
  • Make sure your chipset drivers are installed. If you use AMD platform, if it says that it was installed successfully, click on the report link to ensure that is really the case.
  • Ensure you have the latest UEFI/BIOS. If you already do, consider going 1 version behind.
  • Disable any OC, including XMP/EXPO/DOCP profile (for troubleshooting purposes)

Dont forget to mark as solution if your question is answered

Note: My advice is amateur help/beginner troubleshooting, someone else can probably troubleshoot way better than me.

Is it the same PC? Any BIOS updates done since?

You can probably use hibernation instead.

XMP would, which is why it's mentioned as a temporary troubleshooting step.

XMP was introduced with DDR3. So, you do have it.

Make that AMP for AMD powered system.
