Is there a way I can overclock a intel-3427u right now I only get 2.6Ghz

If your processor is locked, likely not. But I would not recommend it as yours is a mobile cpu and an older one at that.

What is your system specs? maybe someone can recommend some other solutions for you, what are you looking to do with this you need to oc?

You might be able to get an extra 200MHz if you mess around with some settings in ThrottleStop, but you're not really gonna notice an extra 200MHz if you're able to get it at all. There are only a handful of locked CPUs after the X58 era that you can overclock, none of which are mobile chips. The most you can hope to do is mess around with turbo settings and power limits, but those rarely result in a noticeable performance difference for anything other than battery life. It's not worth the effort IMO.

This is a low power mobile CPU, so I assume this is a laptop? It's likely limited by the machine's cooling performance, so even if you could overclock it, thermal constraints would likely cause it to throttle petty quickly.

Warm processor, I would not recommend pushing it if you get that on idle.

That or your cooler needs cleaned.

You need a repaste and you also gotta clean the damn cooler cause 70c idle is abysmal, maybe aim for 50c idle since its a laptop

Its locked so not ocable,

I think there are mobile chips with turbo unlock, most notably 4700mq cause ppl screweing around with ocing them on an older buggy microcode but all scores seem to have been removed by hwbot

As long as cpu isnt hitting thermal throttle (95-105c) and if you can somehow oc then sure why not if you dont mind slightly reduced battery

my moms old 4200u laptop doesnt even go much past the 80s when the cpu is fully loaded and the cooler + thermal paste has problably not been changed for awhile, it is haswell so i can screw around with turbo unlock and lock max 26 multi with a simple bios mod (if its the same as the xeons all it takes is getting rid of the 6f2 microcode) but havent bothered to do so as i dont need the extra cpu performance, just needs an ssd and more ram since i only use it for schoolwork
