unless he wants more than 3 monitors which prof cards provide but yea I agree with you.

 

If you need multi monitors I'd go with amd, but cuda is pretty sweet.

I'm not sure what your point is with the 3 monitors.

 

He's already made it clear that he plans to get a GTX 780......which also happens to support the use of 3 monitors.

He's saying that despite the Qaudro 4000/5000's worse or equal performance, when compared to the GTX 780, for the program he plans to use a majority of the time, that he plans to get it for the lolz because it's cheap on ebay.

with most high end graphics card you can have up to 6 1080p displays trough a display port hub

But surround only supports 3 monitors, it's a limitation I wished didn't exist.

watch it guys, the quadro 4000 is what i use in my workstation at the office and it compares to about a gtx 550ti in terms of performance...its really not the same as the quadro K4000 wich compare to about a gtx 680...the quadro 4000 is like a 5 years old gpu...its worth about 150$ now...
