Overclocking a laptop ?

So I was thinking what would happen if I overclock my laptop does how much would it even boost performance and is it even worth trying it. Ps I have a poo poo laptop with a GTX960m and a intel i7-6700hq what are y’all’s thoughts should I try it out ?

Yes overclocking on a laptop will give you better performance. I would reccomend overclocking both the gpu and the CPU. Just only do a light overclock as we all know the cooling solutions in laptops arent as good as pc so don't go heavy

Ok thx for the input I’ve had the laptop for many years just never thought about doing it

If you have any sort of voltage control, you will benefit from undervolting more than overclocking. Thermal and power headroom will be your limiting factor 90% of the time in laptops.
